At the 2012 Salmon Camp,  Warm Springs fisheries biologist Lisa Dubisar lead a hands-on field activity on how to test water samples. The campers also learned why good water quality is important for salmon and a healthy ecosystem.

The 2014 Salmon Camp will be at the Yakama Nation’s Camp Chaparral on the Yakama Indian Reservation July 28-August 1, 2014.

The no-cost camp is for incoming 6th-8th graders from the four CRITFC member tribes. Camp participants take part in culturally relevant, hands-on activities that combine Western science with traditional ecological knowledge.

The 2014 camp is filled. Check back next year for application information for the 2015 camp.
