Biography

Growing up on the Columbia River as a fisher woman, my elders have taught me the importance of being who I am. To this day, I share what I have learned with my own children. This is a tradition that is still practiced today up and down the Columbia River by the Four Band Tribes. After leaving the Yakama Reservation, I attended ITT Tech for a short time and then had to put my education on hold. I was a commercial/industrial roofer before coming to CRITFC. I started working for CRITFC as a part time Fish Technician II working on Sea Lion video and hazing. I was hired full time as a Fish Technician III in 2012 and love that my job involves a variety of field projects. I enjoy participating in outreach events with CRITFC and look forward to continued learning and career development.

When I am not working, all of my time is spent with my children; Duane 21, Eli 17, and Tyrone 16. My children, family, and friends keep me going strong. Some of my time is spent fishing on the Columbia River when the season opens. So we have this saying that is always said, “We are the River Rats”!!

Education

A.S., ITT Technical Institute, 2008
