Biography

My professional interests involve the use of quantitative and statistical models in fisheries science and management. Prior to working with the Commission, my graduate studies focused on the development, evaluation, and application of these models for Chinook salmon populations in rural western Alaska. Example analyses I have worked on include migration timing forecasts, management strategy evaluations, in-season abundance forecasts, and mixed-stock spawner-recruit analyses. I am an avid statistical programmer who enjoys thinking about fisheries/ecological problems and ways to extract the most reliable and useful information from available data. My research at CRITFC is directed toward developing ways stream habitat conditions can be integrated into lifecycle models for spring Chinook salmon in the Grande Ronde subbasin, with the intent of evaluating the likely effectiveness of alternative habitat restoration activities in the face of future climate scenarios.

Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, which often takes us outdoors for hiking, fishing, or kayaking
