Biography
Faron Scissons has worked in various positions and roles for CRITFC since 2010. Faron is currently the Interim Director for the newly developed Community Development Department, tasked with overseeing and strategically guiding the development of a cultural nutritional food programs, the coordination and implementation of outreach and fisher safety programs, and salmon marketing initiatives to ensure they align with the organization’s broader goals while mutually benefiting tribal fishers and tribal members on-and off-reservation.
Faron is an enrolled member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe and a White Earth Minnesota Chippewa and Sisseton Wahpeton descendent. Faron holds an MLS in Federal Indian Law from Arizona State University, Sandra Day O’Conner School of Law.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Faron is a millennial supervisor who actively advocates for maintaining a well-rounded work/life balance. Outside the office, Faron find joy and relaxation in finding new brunch spots with friends, reading, a good laugh, and spoiling her dog.
