Biography
My research focuses on applying two main analytical approaches, genetic stock identification and parentage based tagging, to inform the management of hatchery- and natural-origin populations of Chinook salmon and steelhead in the Columbia River Basin. In addition, I am pursuing a wide range of population genomics research topics related to understanding the genetic basis of fitness traits in salmonids and Pacific lamprey. I am a father of two lovely girls and enjoy biking with them to school, watching them explore their worlds, and adventuring as a family in the Pacific Northwest which balances the scientific portion of my life.
