Biography

Duties: Track in-season river flows, wind-weather forecasts to tribal fishers, technical assistance on Columbia River Treaty issues, evaluate climate change scenarios, GENESYS modeling of Columbia Basin hydroelectric dams and river flow scenarios (including Altered Flood Control).  Committees: Columbia River Forecast Group, Fish Passage Advisory Committee.  Research interests include climate change impacts and hydrology, MEI-based water supply forecasting, and producing monthly climate forecasts.  Teach part-time evening classes at Portland Community College (Intro. Meteorology, Oceanography, Climate Change, and Astronomy). Prior to coming to CRITFC, Kyle worked ten years for NOAA-National Weather Service.

In October 2013, Kyle published two papers in a Special Issue of the peer-reviewed journal Climatic Change.
